Technology Licensing
PolyU has developed a wide range of products and technologies which are currently available for licensing. Opting to license technology enables enterprises to adopt innovative technologies flexibly. Enterprise can leverage on the expertise of PolyU's research to save time and costs. By taking advantage of licensing PolyU's technologies, enterprise can be more responsive to market needs and can maximize their potential profits.
We offer two types of licensing agreements: 1) exclusive licensing, where the client company is the sole licensee of the technology, and 2) non-exclusive licensing where the client company is one of the licensees of the technology.
Exclusive licence - the licensee is expected to make a combination of up-front and royalty fee payment to secure the licence. Commitment is also expected such as guaranteed minimum payment and marketing effort. The deal will be structured to enable a win-win situation for both parties and to attain maximum success.
Non-Exclusive licence - more flexibility can be exercised whereby the conditions under exclusive licence will be required but flexibility will be exercised to suit the situation.
Under both instances the licensee has the right to adapt or further develop the technology in order to enhance its capability and reach.
